PROJECT SUMMARY
I led the redesign from site audit to executive sign-off in 8 weeks, then supported a phased launch.
TD Insurance offers extensive resources for learning and development updated frequently to encourage colleagues to take the next step in their careers.
Despite the efforts from the Learning and Development Team, many of our colleagues have trouble finding all the up-to-date resources. Our mission for this project was simple but ambitious: Help our colleagues find credible, updated, and curated learning and development resources to grow their career.
Due to the nature of my work, visuals shown are recreations based on my original sketches.

UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM
Fewer than 600 monthly views, and falling
Before SharePoint adoption, TD Insurance relied on an outdated internal intranet to share Learning & Development resources and monthly updates. Despite regular content updates, the platform was seeing fewer than 600 monthly views and declining course enrolments, making it increasingly difficult to demonstrate value and maintain executive sponsorship.
The existing experience contained relevant information, but its structure and presentation made it difficult for employees to discover and engage.
[ How might we redesign the experience to make L&D resources easier to discover and more engaging, while preserving the information employees already relied on? ]
DISCOVERY
I first mapped out the current state of the website
Before ideating what our new site could look like, it was important to have a concrete site map of the current layout. From here we were able to categorize our key problems and recommend to stakeholders what could be cut.

ALIGNMENT
I facilitated a 3-hour stakeholder workshop to pinpoint pain points
Through a stakeholder workshop, we synthesized key site pain points into a focused problem statement and goal, establishing a clear reference framework for the entire redesign. It was important we mapped these visually so they served as our north star.

SOLUTION
A restructured site, built around how people actually search
Instead of a nav tree organized by content age and department ownership, the redesign organizes around three things employees are actually trying to do: discover relevant learning, track what’s available this quarter, and act on it without leaving the page. The new structure collapses four disconnected sections (Archived Content, Newsletter, Executive Communications, Learning Hub, and its three sub-pages) into a single scannable homepage with featured content surfaced by relevance, not by folder location.

OUTCOME
Monthly views grew from 600 to 2000
After presenting the redesign to executives for sign-off, we moved to a phased launch to validate impact before full rollout.
Phase 1 - Marketing push
Designed and launched promotional banners across other TD internal intranets to drive awareness ahead of the site going live.
Phase 2 - Soft launch
Released to a limited audience to test navigation and content discovery. Used this phase to fix bugs and redesign around new pain points
Phase 3 - Hard launch
Rolled out site-wide, tracking engagement through to the end of the launch window
